Aircraft Multi-Purpose Airborne Flight Recorders The Multi Purpose Flight Recorder (MPFR) represents a new era in low cost, low weight, and flexibility for flight recorders. ![]() Weighing in at no more than 3.2kg (7.0lb) including Underwater Locator Beacon, the Multi Purpose Flight Recorder (MPFR) offers features including 4 channel voice recording for 120 minutes (one wide band, 3 narrow band audio channels), a rotor tachometer interface, 25 hours of flight data recording at 256 words/second and provision for HUMS data recording. Higher Multi Purpose Flight Recorder (MPFR) data rates up of up to 2048 words/second are available, making the Multi Purpose Flight Recorder (MPFR) ideal for general aviation or flight test recording. Provisions are reserved for OMS and data link recording from ARINC 429 interfaces. The Multi Purpose Flight Recorder (MPFR) sets new standards for data recovery reducing aircraft maintenance and support costs. Information retrieval is made via a 10/100MB Fast Ethernet interface directly to a portable transfer device or analysis PC using standard network hardware and protocols, alternatively connection may be made to transfer FDR data via an aircraft Wireless Data Link (WDL). On-aircraft download of FDR data is possible in just over a minute while off-aircraft download of all voice and flight data is achieved in a little over 3 minutes. The Multi Purpose Flight Recorder (MPFR) also provides facilities for FDR on-aircraft real time monitoring to permit aircraft recording system validation. Using its network interface, the Multi Purpose Flight Recorder (MPFR) with Cockpit Voice Recorder Function and Flight Data Recorder (FDR) Function provides remote status, diagnostics and data download capability from almost anywhere in the world back to our manufacturing facilities or to customer operational bases. |
